Do Not Fret!

I went out to get somethings at a local shop and while greeting the neighbours (near and far) that I met along the way, my gaze locks with someone's eager stare. She was a mother of two, living with her husband, in a makeshift home (shop turned into an apartment). She waved at me. And I waved back at her.

"Anything for the girls?"

I started to laugh.

She walked up to me in her usual jovial manner. "How far with these people? We are tired of waiting?"

She was referring to one of the remote software testing gig I was running. "Don't worry, I will let you know once they select you as a participant."

The young woman sighed. Her countenance changed. Worry, mixed with sadness engulfed her face. "The way I need money now ehn... Imagine someone came to scam me this hot afternoon."

I became alarmed. Getting scammed in this season that we are in hits harder and the pain is much worse. "What happened?"

She narrated how someone came to her POS kiosk to withdraw some funds, but he sent her a fake alert and left with some cash. By the time she discovered the fraud, the young man was gone! I consoled her in the best way I could and encouraged her with a token. It was a tenth of what she had lost, but, it would bring some form of comfort.

Presently, the situation around many of us cannot be expressed in words... Have you also been scammed like that lady, by strangers or known persons? Do you have needs, wants and desires and it feels like you are in a sinking ship? No way forward? Are you afraid of tomorrow? Unsure whether you should go left or right?

Do not fret! Do not be troubled! Jesus sees you, He hears you and He can feel every ache, pain and despair in your heart. He will surely come through for you. Be at peace Beloved of the Lord ❤️

"It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit–depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm]." AMP. Deutronomy 31:8
